My Birthday

Friday was my birthday. Adam was able to get off work early which was fantastic because he came home and helped me clean the house! Yeah! Fun stuff!

But we did have fun that night, we met Adam's parents for some yummy Chinese food and ice cream cake after. And before we put the boys to bed Adam gave me my presents. I got a really cute but very big orange bag and a picture of a mother with a baby that is from a series I really liked. If I could remember where I originally saw it, I would link to it!

Anyway, it was a great day and we had a lot of fun.

Chick Pops

Xavier's birthday is in a week or so but school will already be out so he got to bring treats on Monday. I let him pick anything he wanted out of the cake pop book. He chose chicks since his class had just finished learning about chicks and hatching their own little family of chicks.

These are surprisingly easy unless you have this guy in the house...
Apparently, rules don't apply to this guy and he just seems to go about and get into things he shouldn't. I needed candy sprinkles for the wings and feet, I bought a brand new bottle. Guess who ate it all? I also couldn't find rainbow chips like they have in the book so I bought Starburst and shaped the orange ones into beaks. Guess who ate all the beaks off of the chicks TWICE and I had to do them all over again, TWICE. Luckily he didn't eat the cake pops, just the beaks, otherwise I would be in jail (or the mental institution) right now. I love him, I really do.

Grayson - 9 months

Grayson is now 9 months old and it just doesn't seem possible. But everyone says that as their baby gets older right?

Anywho, he is still a super easy baby, just laid back and content with what is going on. He is crawling perfectly now and is getting pretty fast too. He prefers to be down crawling around instead of in his bouncer except for the high chair. He's pretty happy in the high chair, as long as there is food on his tray. He is starting to eat more table food too which makes my life easier. He had green beans for the first time on Sunday and was sucking them through his lips like a straw. He has also had black beans, avocados, bananas, and he has also had his first taste of ice cream and cake and cookies...ssshhhhh.... I'm sure there is more foods he has had, but I can't think of them right now.

He went to the Dr on Friday. He weighed 20 lbs and 8 oz. I can't find this information right now, so I'll have to update his height, since I can't remember it right now. He was in the 50% on weight and 75% on height.

Some of my favorite pics of Gray...

Honestly, I don't know what this face is about, but its pretty cute. He really isn't pouting, he was sticking out his tongue.

He loves crackers and toast. Please ignore the slobbers on his shirt and the tired eyes.

Speaking of tired eyes, I had to wake him up to get Aiden from preschool and he was a little out of it.

And...for his latest trick....
look who is pulling himself up...again, ignore the wonky foot.

Piano Recital

Xavier and Damon had a piano recital this past Friday. Normally they do three recitals a year but this was just their second one. The first one is held at Christmas time and we were on vacation. Normally our piano teacher has done this recital on Mother's day which we have never participated in it because it was on Sunday so we were happy that it was moved to Friday this year. I'm wondering if its because she has more mormon students, but who knows.

Thanks Brooke, Ryan and Chloe

We had a great little weekend in Texas and enjoyed staying with the Steeds. It was fun watching Chloe and Grayson play together, they are one month apart. Hopefully we didn't scare them from having more children, and more importantly, from having boys.

Thanks and we can't wait to see you guys again!!!

Saturday Activities

Saturday we went to Firewheel Mall with Brooke, Ryan and Chloe to do a little shopping. The mall is really an outside mall and reminded me of Legends in Kansas City.
The boys also got to ride on this cute little train and play at a park.
After the mall we went to the Dallas Arboretum. They had beautiful flowers and the boys enjoyed running around. There were also little scenes from different children's books, like The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Peter Rabbit.
The first good picture I have ever got of all 4 boys looking at the camera and even smiling! Its a happy moment/miracle when that happens!
There was also a large fountain area that the boys LOVED running around in. They were really the only kids doing it but we decided it was probably too cold for the Texans.
After that it was time to party! We went to Ben and Kelly's house for dinner, cupcakes, and family fun. Most of our Texas family were there as well as Adam's parents and Grandma. Adam's dad was also able to come to town so we got to see him too. And did I mention the cupcakes...yummers!

Trip to Dallas

We traveled down to Dallas last weekend for Ben's graduation. Thursday night we stayed in Norman and then finished the drive to Dallas on Friday. All of the boys were good little travelers. Damon, Xavier and Aiden always bring toys, books and movies to entertain them. I forgot to pack any toys for Grayson. Luckily he always has his favorite toys with him...
We stayed with our niece (Brooke) and her family (Ryan and baby Chloe) in Rockwall. For dinner on Friday we met up with Ben and Kelly and Adam's parents and his Grandma at Lover's pizza and then went to get some yummy frozen yogurt.

Grandma and Ryan sick of me taking pictures of them (I swear someone always walked in front of them every time I snapped the picture).

Me and Grayson

XavierAiden...he has really hated me taking pictures of him lately. He never looks at me if I'm holding a camera!

New Camera

I have been saving (when I say saving I mean selling a bunch of junk on craigslist) this year for a new camera and it finally happened! I got it last week and have been taking more pictures then normal and driving everyone crazy. I need to still figure out all of the gadgets on it but one day it will happen.

Here's some of my favorites from the day I got it. They are mostly of Grayson because he can't run away from me.

Mother's Day

We switched up our Mother's day dinner this year and celebrated on Saturday at Brookville Hotel in Abilene. Adam's parents and Grandma met us over there for some yummy fried chicken and fake potatoes. (Sorry it just kills me that they use fake potatoes...yuck!)

Even though the potatoes are fake we had a great time and I got a cute pair of sandals out of the deal too.

After we drove down to El Dorado to celebrate Lois' birthday with my family. My dad grilled steaks which we awesome. (The saddest moment of the day is when I left our leftover steaks at their house.) We had a good time with my family although I didn't take enough pictures. However, Charla got some funny ones of Carrie and I fighting.

Sunday morning we went to church, came home and Adam made lunch. I took an awesome nap. For dinner we had leftovers from Brookville and went for a nice walk. After our walk we made blizzards in our new blender with our homemade ice cream. It was a nice, relaxing day. And Adam gave me a beautiful ring to celebrate...he did good!

Bath Time

Now that Grayson is a little bigger he can take baths with Aiden. I think Aiden has loved having a playmate with him. They have a lot of fun together.

Grayson Videos

Videos of Grayson clapping and crawling...kinda....he's still working on the crawling.

Gone Fishin'

My dad took his son and sons in law fishing for a weekend at Lake Texoma. The fish weren't exactly biting but maybe they will have better look next year?
In the pic above is my brother in law Brenden, Adam, brothers in law Matt and Tracy, my daddy, my brother in law Joe and my brother Charlie.

Adam on the boat

While Adam was away for the weekend the boys and I played. We went to the park and were there for over 2 hours. Thats a record when I'm by myself with the boys. The weather was perfect and everyone was playing so nicely, and for the first time ever I wasn't terribly bored.
Damon loves pushing Grayson in the swings.
