Adam's Birthday

We celebrated Adam's birthday last week.  We weren't able to do much since it was a busy week.  We had something every weekend and every night so we squeezed in a quick party on Monday night, the day of his birthday.

We had Adam's parents and Grandma over for butterfinger brownies and ice cream.

Aiden gave him a folder FULL of drawings (mostly tracings of his hand).
He had emptied an entire notebook of paper.

Grandma gave him a gift card for the Manhattan Running Company.

I got him new running shoes and a new gym bag.  Which he already opened because the boy couldn't wait 3 weeks for his birthday.

The boys and Adam always joke around about the big containers of cheese puffs we always see at Wal-Mart and Target so we decided they should get him that.

Aiden and Grayson were so excited they were hugging the container.

And yes, the cheese puffs are just as disgusting as you can imagine.  When I bought them a guy stacking shelves said to me, "Just so you know, the container is better then the cheese puffs."

Funny Thing...

Sunday mornings we always try to get Grayson to take a little nap before church.  We go to church around 1 which is exactly Grayson's nap time.  But most Sundays he will lay down and take a 1 - 1 1/2 hour nap at around 11.  It's perfect.  Yesterday however he just wouldn't do it.  I kept bringing him sippy cups of milk and nothing would get that kid to go to sleep.

So I finally give up and go in to get him.  He was just sitting in his crib playing and making cute little noises.  I say to him, "Grayson, why aren't you taking a nap?"  He quickly falls straight forward and lays down and starts to fake snore.  It was so funny.

And even though he was far from perfect, considering he didn't have a nap he wasn't too bad. But after all 3 hours of church that kid was done and this is what I got to ride home with yesterday...
He's AWESOME!

Luckily he was so tired he fell asleep on the long way home!

Labor Day

Monday we met up with my sister and her family to go to my brother in law new place of work.  He just started at BNSF this summer and they were doing an open house type thing on Labor day.  Plus they were feeding us!  And we had to get the rest of our family!

 My boys with a train

Here's Matt with the train he works on.

Here's one of the fancy cars before we got kicked out of it.

The boys must have had a great weekend because they were all exhausted.
All of them slept the entire ride home.

Weekend Update

Saturday Adam and I went to the Kansas City temple.  We had cleaning duty.
(I didn't even know members took turns cleaning the temple so it was a new experience, I got to vacuum, Adam dusted.)
We ordered takeout from one of our favorite restaurants, Cheeseburger in Paradise, and then went to Topeka to pick up Grayson.  My sister and family just moved to Topeka so now we can dump our kids off on them and head up to KC.  Its going to be awesome!  They decided to keep Damon, Xavier and Aiden for the weekend.  So we just had Grayson, it was the first time we were ever parents of only a 2 year old.  It was weirdly awesome.
Here's Grayson modeling his new Train Conductor hat from Uncle Matt and Aunt Carrie

Sunday morning, Grayson had a great time just playing with his cars.  He loves cars.

He's bratty but he's cute.

Bath time before church.  Sitting with just Grayson in church was AMAZING!  Big difference then having all four boys.  I did have to take him out once when he saw my iphone in my purse and I wouldn't let him have it.  That was a nice fit.

After church we started dinner and waited for Adam to get home to grill our steaks, (Yes, we treated ourselves to steak while the boys were gone, it was total devastation once they found out.  How dare we eat without them!)  We also made cookies, here's Grayson making his own little concoction.  Every time I would pour something in my bowl, he would want some in his.  He had a good time.

Dinner, it was awesome.

Some pics from my sister...this was the first time in a long time that the boys were ever away from us, at least at an age they would remember.  They did really well, no midnight calls asking to come get them!

Grayson's Birthday

So Grayson turned 2 on August 20th.  We had his party the day before.  We did a "beach theme" (I just wanted to make shark sugar cookies and hijack these cute ideas I saw online.)  We served Hawaiian haystacks for dinner.

I'm bummed my settings got switched on my camera so my pics are grainy :(  But here's our guy opening presents.

He was super excited about the cash he got, he ran to Grandma Little and gave it to her.

His last present came with a little announcement...

 Damon's reaction was priceless

Here he is with his cakes, he wasn't too excited about being sung to.  I think it freaked him out a bit.
One cake was white (that I dyed blue) and the other was chocolate.
Then we had cookies and cream ice cream and strawberry ice cream.
