Good Health

New article for the Manhattan Magazine, in the Fall Issue

Kansas City Marathon

Saturday, Adam ran the Kansas City Marathon. He did well with a time 3 hours and 26 minutes. He was hoping for a little bit faster time but given the hills and the little sleep from the night before, he felt good about it.

I would love to post pictures but dumb me didn't bring a memory card. Camera, check, freshly charged batteries, check, extra batteries, check, memory card, no. I didn't even think to check for the memory card.

Friday we took the boys out of school a little early so we could check into the hotel and let the boys go swimming. Before we went swimming we went to eat at 5 Guys which is yummy!

Friday night Adam and I got to sleep with an 18 month old between us. Aiden fell asleep rather easily at about 9:00. Unfortunately he woke up at about 2 am. He then began to thrash around the bed trying to get comfortable for the next 4 HOURS. He tried my neck, chest, stomach, leg, thigh, arm, and any other body part as a pillow but nothing ever worked. So then he tried to lay in the other direction and kick me or Adam in the face or back. I think it was the longest night of my life.

Funny thing, Adam gets up at about 5:45. I remove all the blankets and extra pillows off the bed, put two pillows on the edge and lay Aiden down and cover him up with his favorite blanket. In the next 15 minutes he was out cold and slept for the next 2 1/2 hours.

After the race and after Adam recovered from the marathon in the hot tub, we went to lunch at a yummy mexican restaurant in Legends. The best chips and flautas I've ever had. It is my new happy place. We went shopping at Nebraska Furniture Mart and only found a desk, kinda disappointing but good cause we needed one. We did find living room furniture we will get at a future time. We were able to get new beds for the boys. So now we need a dining table and very importantly a refrgerator.

We close on our house on Friday so here's hoping everything continues to go well and we find a refrigerator.

Clifford Program

Bergman School tradition, the first graders perform a "Clifford" program. So this year was Xavier's turn. He had a good time and it was fun to watch. We also took the grandparents to his classroom to check that out too.
Our puppy Xavier...
the spectators...Aiden kept letting Grandma's duck key chain "quack" during the show, he found our embarrassment hilarious.
Here is a couple of songs...funny thing the boy to Xavier's right is named Damon.

Pretty Aiden

Aiden got into my lipsticks today. I thought he was being a little too quiet this morning. This was his third bath in less than 24 hours. He's a fun kid.
