Lights Camera Action

It was the 3rd grade school program last week.  It was different songs from movies, which was pretty fun.  Here's some video too.  Xavier is in the 2nd row. Sorry for the crappy camera work, I was wrestling my camera from Aiden most of the time.  Not to mention the kid dancing in front of me.

Kansas City Temple

Saturday, the 14th we went to Kansas City and met my parents and one of my sister's and her family and our friends Todd and Kari so that we could all get a tour of the new Kansas City Temple.  We first met Todd and Kari at 5 Guys for lunch, walked around Legends for about 30 minutes to get some wiggles out, and then drove to the temple.  It would have been fantastic to get a family picture in front of the temple but when I got my camera out the boys had already loaded themselves in the car...then the sprinkler system went off right where I was standing.  So basically, I was lucky to get this shot.
But the temple is beautiful and it was fun to get together with most of my family.  After we hung out with my parents at Crown Center and drove around searching for a mexican restaurant, luckily we found one before we found a QT, or we would have been eating hot dogs instead of chips and salsa.

Not many pictures of Aiden now days, he won't stand still for me!

The next Saturday, Adam and I drove back to the temple to help out for the tours.  Adam was "head" of security and I was an usher (aka, I stood in a room for 5 hours telling people to walk to the next room).  But it was nice to be able to help out.  Some friends of ours that live in KC also went through the temple that afternoon so we were able to visit with them briefly.   It was the BUSIEST day the temple had so far.  They expected over 7500 people to walk through that day.  The poor guys in charge seemed a little stressed out.  But it seemed to all go very smoothly. And Adam took me out to Steak and Shake for dinner, that is always a win!

Baldness in Manhattan

So even though everyone already knows about Adam's race, I'm still posting on my blog about it.

Some friends of ours who once lived in Manhattan now have 4 children.  Unfortunately one was diagnosed with a brain tumor and is undergoing chemotherapy.  He is around the age of our Aiden.  Adam wanted to do something to help the Ames family, especially help Drew.

Every year he runs the Rockin' K race.  It is just over 26 miles.  Adam decided to try and raise $100 per mile, if he exceeded $2600 he would run additional miles, with the goal getting to at least $3000.  At that mark he would shave his head.

The day before the race, he had raised a little over $3000 so Friday night we shaved his head.  We thought we recorded the whole event but apparently the 10 year old didn't hit the record button on the iphone.  (Which is sad because you missed the mohawk!)  So we just got a little bit of the process.  But here it is...and I finally had a reason to play with my movie program I've never used.

Just for fun, another blogger recorded part of the race he ran and Adam happened to be in front of him the whole time.  So here is some running action.

If you want to keep tabs on our friend Drew or would like to donate to help their family please go to their website. www.teamdrew.org

The sweet couple who organizes this race every year also printed a special shirt for Drew and gave him a medal from the race as well.  They were really supportive of Adam's efforts and we really appreciated it.

Easter

I just remembered I never posted about Easter.

Pretty low key this year.  Church in the morning, naps in the afternoon, and then dinner with the Littles and an egg hunt.  Simple and fun and I made yummy cheesecake for dessert so it was all good.

Here's pictures...

Bath Time

Just because it was funny....

Tonight I gave Aiden and Grayson a bath.  I got Grayson out first, dried him off, lotioned him up, new diaper, clean pjs.  He quickly ran off and I thought was going down stairs to play with Damon and Xavier.  (Especially since he got out of the bathtub just a few minutes earlier and ran downstairs completely naked.)

I grab pjs for Aiden and go to the bathroom and to get Aiden out of the tub.  There is Grayson sitting in the bathtub all by himself.  So Aiden was the one that I heard running down the stairs and it was Grayson who was playing in the bathtub completely dressed and ready for bed.

So I get him out, dripping wet, strip him down.  Meanwhile Aiden runs back upstairs so I get him back in the tub since he hadn't been washed yet.  Grayson then pees all over me, himself, and the bathroom rug.  So guess who got to go back into the tub and play some more.

It was an adventurous bath time and why its usually Adam's job!

Good Friday

Every year we get together with my family to dye Easter eggs on Good Friday.  It probably seems silly to drive down just for a few hours but its a tradition that we love.

This year the Aiden bunny came with us...

Here is Jax, Damon, Grayson and Aunt Charla

Grayson was a disaster but he loved it.  He had dye all over him!

Aiden, all of his were blue again this year.

Grayson, covered in yellow.  He looked a little jaundice.
