Tired Toddler

Tonight after dinner the boys wanted to play a game and we decided on Phase 10 (which I don't know why they want to play because I always win, not to toot my own horn but Phase 10 is my game. Plus, I already beat them earlier in the day.) Anyway, usually Aiden will just play around with his cars or trains or sit on my lap and hold my cards and stuff. Well tonight he was wondering around and then disappeared. Adam and I assumed he went to his room. Adam goes to peak in on him and he wasn't in his room, he was curled up safely in our bed, in fact on my side.

Snow Day

We had the best snow day a couple weeks ago. We had a good amount of snow, especially by the afternoon but it was really nice outside while it was falling. No wind, the temps were in the high 20s and it was surprisingly nice for being a snow day. The boy loved it and stayed out in it for over an hour. But we need to invest in new snow gear for next year.

In this case, 2 is a crowd...

So I had this little suspicion that Aiden had been sleeping with Grayson in his crib. Every morning when I would get Grayson, Aiden's blankets would be in his crib. We didn't know if he was sleeping in there or throwing his blankets in once he got up. Aiden wakes up about 2 hours earlier then Grayson so it was hard to tell. We decided we needed to start checking every night before we go to bed.

The first night, Aiden was safe asleep on the floor (he doesn't sleep in his bed for some reason) and Grayson was safe in his crib.

However, the next night we found this. I had to take a picture because I thought it was cute that Aiden covered Grayson up with his blanket. Of course Adam picked Aiden up and put him in his own bed. Now we have a talk each night with Aiden that he has to stay out of Grayson's crib because he could hurt him and if he goes in there again we will have to move Grayson out of his room. Aiden LOVES having Grayson in his room so so far that has worked to keep them separated.

Grayson - 5 months

So Grayson was 5 months old on the 20th of January and yet again I didn't get anything posted about him. I swear I'm not a bad mom, just a busy one! I keep telling him if he wanted more attention he should have been born first. We often joke that Damon beat him in arm wrestling in the Preexistence. However, how spirits arm wrestle has never been brought up.

Anywho...Grayson is still a great baby and is super smiley and giggly all the time. Which is good since he often has a brother or two or three in his face at all times. He is still not rolling over and he still has no teeth but he sleeps through the night so we don't complain!

I don't know what else to say about him but we love him, we think he's super cute, and he is really big. I don't have any stats for him, he will go to the dr next month. But every where we go people are surprised that he is only 5 months old.

A Christmas Post...

I forgot to post this at Christmas. I only post it because Aiden says about 5 words and he actually talks on this. Not much, but its more than ever recorded (except for the famous Target video of him yelling no).

Don't get too excited, its just him saying what Santa says, but its cute.

2011!

New year started off with a little surprise visit from Adam's brother Kevin and his wife Lisa. We just stopped off for a short visit with them before heading down to El Dorado.

Here's Jason and I in bad lighting before we left. This little guy had to go back to Utah today.

Every year we go to my parents' new year party in El Dorado. It is the best fried potatoes in the world plus some good ole black eyed peas for good luck. Yummy!

Grayson's first new year's party! Next year he'll get to eat the Black eyed peas and have good luck too!
Jax chewing on something...such a smiley guy!
My Uncle Austin and Aiden...both ornery!

New Years Eve 2010

For the first time Adam and I decided to host a New Year's Eve party. We came up with a whole list of people from church to invite but once we counted everyone we realized we need to make some cuts! We had4 families over, including us that was 10 adults and 17 children! Only 14 kids are in this pic. Our downstairs looked amazing during the night!

Before midnight we had 2 families give in to their overly tired kids while the rest of us stayed up until midnight to ring in the new year.

I love the streamers on my light.

Poor Aiden couldn't blow his whistle thing.
I love this picture! Don't worry it was Sparkling White Grape Juice. But if I didn't know better, I would think they were ready for college!

Happy New Year!

Grayson - 4 months

Grayson is now 4 months old and its going by so fast that I keep forgetting to post. So really he is 4 1/2 months old but whatever.

He is a super fun and easy baby. We moved him into his crib this past week and has been sleeping well. He occasionally wakes up in the middle of the night. Lucky for us, he has just woken up us and not his roommate Aiden. Aiden loves having him in his room. I think Aiden realized that he was the only one who didn't have a buddy.

He isn't rolling over yet but he is sitting up pretty good and is very strong. He has started to reach for his toys and putting everything in his mouth.

Grayson has also started on some baby food. Not much, just some rice, apple juice and he had 3 bites of mashed potatoes on Christmas day. Tonight I think we will try an avocado.

Grayson's stats at his dr appointment: Length - 26.5 inches and Weight 16 lb 2 oz.
