Not a good day to buy a Toyota...

Our area of Kansas is all the talk because of some major tornados hitting our area. Manhattan was hit last night with a toronado that was 2-4 blocks wide. It hit a housing area called Miller Ranch (about 30 homes were demolished), then the True Value (a new building that was just over a year old), Midas, and the Toyota dealership (where we bought our van 5 years ago), then the tornado took its wrath out on K-State (can't say I blame it, just teasing). Fortunately, no one seems to have been hurt or killed in Manhattan.

After hitting Manhattan, it went on to Chapman. Chapman is a small town 30 miles west of Manhattan. They are reporting up to 80% of the town to be destroyed. Unfortunately, there have been two deaths reported, one in Chapman and one in Soldier.

Some pictures I took and found on the web...

Little Apple Toyota

Midas is beside Little Apple Toyota, the picture below is Midas as well.

True Value, believe it or not...

This building is right next to True Value, I think they used it for the items they rented out as well as storage, it appears to have very little damage.

This is from someone's backyard at Miller Ranch.

How did the tornado miss Redbud Estates? I thought trailer parks were tornado magnets.

Hey Dolezal fam; I found your blog off of Ben's. How scary to have a tornado come through. I remember when we lived there that we had a tornado warning at work and a girl that had grown up in Manhattan was trying to reassure me by telling me that tornado's never happen in Manhattan. I guess her theory blew away with the tornado. Glad to hear you guys are all right. Cute kids btw. We had a boy in February. I think he's close in age to your boy.
