My Two Adams

Actually it was my three Adams but I'm not that into Adam Duritz.

Friday Night...Adam and I went to Kansas City for the Maroon 5/Counting Crows concert. The best concert ever! First concert I have been to where all the acts are awesome. And we were just 9 rows back from the stage...how cool are we!?!

Augustana
Augustana opened. They were really good. They are pretty new. Adam had heard of a couple of their songs. However, I was totally clueless. But they were good.

Counting Crows
Counting Crows were up next. They were really good. I realized that I know very very few Counting Crows songs (like 2)! The lead singer, Adam, was really good at interacting with the audience. He would talk about their songs and why they were written, things like that.

The coolest thing was his relationship with Augustana. The guitar player for Augustana played with Counting Crows the whole time because their guy was out. And for quite a few songs he had Augustana out to sing along with them. He also introduced Augustana when they first came out.

Another cool thing that the Counting Crows did was talk about how we can all make a difference in the world, our country, and our communites. He talked about the charity they support in Africa. Also, in every town they tour they find a couple of organizations to come in and set up at the concert to give information out to concert goers. Then he also talked about voting and how it is our responsibility to make a difference in our country. You can even register to vote from their website.

At the end of the concert he said, "This is the time when we go off to the dark part of the stage and wait for you to clap and scream and bring us back out. Well, we don't have time for that. We are having too much fun and I want to play as much music as we can." (FYI, I cleaned that statement up...Adam Duritz has a potty mouth.)

Maroon 5
And then my Adam (the HOT one in white!) and the rest of Maroon 5 came out. Now I have been to a lot of concerts...but this one was so unbelieveable. In most concerts they start out with a bang and end with a bang and the middle is just them playing. Not Maroon 5! The whole concert was a bang, a big one! Lights. Lasers. Smoke. Jumping in the air. Craziness. The only complaint, it was too short. I needed more Maroon 5. They played in St Louis Saturday night and I couldn't talk Adam, as in husband, into taking me.

One thing that they did. Adam, my boyfriend, talked about how in the 70s, 80s, and 90s you would have your lighter out at the concert. But since smoking is illegal in public places and not healthy then we can do the next best thing. So he asked everyone to pull out their cell phones. Then he said, "Look around, Look at what we did together." And the whole audience was lit up with cell phone light.

Last song he threw his guitar up and it came crashing down and broke. So he gave it to someone in the audience. Not me. I didn't pay for the super expensive seats just the somewhat expensive seats.

I love them. I'm a total Maroon 5 junkie. I need more...a lot more!

Seriously, I've got it bad!

Thats awesome because I am morally opposed to the whole stupid encore routine... It drives me crazy! It just seems like an ego stroke more than anything else... We all know you're coming back out here... so why are you wasting our time???

Ask Ben... He hears me complain about it every concert we go to.

I'm glad you guys had fun!

Yeah you guys had fun. Of course I would have had fun too had I known Counting Crows were also playing. I know you are just getting me back for the Reba thing. Come on Chrissy, that was like 15 years ago. Geesh, let it go already.
