Band Concert

 Xavier participated in an all school band concert.  Adam got the pleasure of getting to take him to it.

These two...

are a lot of fun together...with the school year coming to an end it will no longer be the 3 of us during the day.  One more year until Grayson goes to school.  

Piano Concert

The boys have a piano recital every year at a retirement home with yummy treats after.  This was one of the best attended (and best treats) they had had.  They are both doing really well in their piano lessons even if they are not as excited about them as they use to be.  :)

Mother's Day Weekend

For Mother's Day we decided to try something new.  We went to Hay's House in Council Grove for lunch on Saturday along with Adam's parents and Grandma.  

On Sunday, we drove down to El Dorado to spend the day with my family and celebrated Lois' Birthday as well as Mother's day.

My parents, because they are awesome, surprised us with jewelry...best.surprise.ever!

Steak + Pie + Jewelry + Family Time = A pretty good Mother's day if you ask me!


Grayson, also gifted me with a fruit loop necklace until his sister discovered it and ate them all.

5th Grade Field Trip

 Adam and Xavier went on the 5th grade field trip.  It is over night at the Rock Springs Camp.  Adam went last year with Damon and had a lot of fun (more then he expected) and offered to go again this time around.  They always do a lot of fun things, they spend time at Ft Riley first and then they go on to the camp.  They rode horses, went canoeing and had other fun games for them to do.  They also did a talent show that night.

6th Grade Talent Show

The 6th grade had a talent show as one of their last activities at the school.   I'll admit I was a little nervous.  The last talent show we went to that was for the whole school lasted about 4+ hours and included way too many girls singing Firework by Katie Perry.  I still can't listen to that song!  

But this one was really good...can't you tell by Damon's excitement??

But seriously, he has a lot of talented classmates and it was great to listen to them perform.  Damon sang with his group as well as performed a hand-jive that was really cool.

Adam was on the 5th grade trip so I got to enjoy the evening with Aiden, Grayson and Adley.

Get Around 2 It

 Every year Manhattan has a little activity called, "Get Around 2 It"  They will have different groups there talking about the many activities available in our area.  They will also have other activities too plus drawings for different free things.  Its pretty fun and we always try to go.  We missed it last year because it was moved to a Wednesday and it was freaking cold (maybe even snowed?) on that day.
